All the World's a stage

At Chillingham Road Primary we ensure that all our Chillizens are the given a platform to express and share their qualities and skills.

Every week, we review learning during our Friday afternoon assembly and this gives all classes the opportunity to share their learning including:

Phase 1 Phonics Performances
Performance Poetry
Curriculum Bite size clips
Musical recitals
Choral Counting

Seasonal Productions

Every Autumn, we walk to St.Gabriel's Parish Church for our Harvest Share and our whole school choir performs alongside our Red Hot Chilli Singers.

At Christmas, our Year 1 children lead the show and we always ensure our Early Years children take to the stage and sing too.

In March, we are bringing back Family Music Night as Chilli's Got Talent so watch this space

Heaton Shakespeare Festival

Every June, our Year 6 class join forces with schools from across the Ouseburn Learning Trust to peform an abridged Shakesperian Play. The performances are all staged at the Famous People's Theatre in Heaton and families from across the local area come and share in a brilliant evening of performing arts.

Scottish Opera

Every summer our Year 5 class team up with Scottish Opera for their annual performance. As a school we receive:

High quality teaching resources, including a teachers' support pack to help introduce the music and related activities.
A day-long workshop with a team of highly experienced arts education specialists and performers.
A 30 minute performance for family, friends and schoolmates to share.
