Our Teams

Since 2017, we have established collaborative teams across Years 1 to Year 6.

We have six teams in school:

  1. Ada Lovelace
  2. George Stephenson
  3. Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock
  4. Jane Goodhall
  5. Sadiya Hussain
  6. Victor Passmore

Every half term we plan a team’s day. This is a collapsed curriculum day when all our children move around a rich and vibrant carousel of learning focused on a key theme.

In the past we have orchestrated successful team’s days related to:

  • Anti-bullying
  • International Day of Peace
  • Love Nature Day
  • Time

In addition, the whole school reward and unit of currency at Chillingham Road is the traditional marble. Marbles are awarded to children outside of their normal lesson times and are given to children who are demonstrating the focus for that week. For example, the focus might be exemplary manners and staff will notice and award children marbles for their efforts.

We have three marbles that are awarded in school:

  • Transparent marbles = 1 point
  • Blue marbles = 10 points
  • Chillistones = 100 points
  • Ruby Gems = 1000 points

All marbles are placed by our children into the marble run by the sports hall and are counted weekly by KS2 children. Totals are shared each Friday during our achievement assembly. The winning team term will receive an appropriate award or special treat.

You will be able to see a running score of the marbles on the website’s home page.
