Black History Month

1st October 2018
Last week our Year 6 attended a workshop at the Star and Shadow cinema for the Sheroes and Heroes exhibition curated by Dynamix.
The class were sensitively guided by Rico and Rosa to contemplate new stories of success, bravery, innovation and determination.
For years, certainly within the primary sector of education, the lack of accurate vocabulary and the repetition of myths and conceptions have misinformed our youngest minds. Exhibitions and opportunities such as these with Dynamix should be part of our mainstream diet.
Apart from many of the incredible stories, it was the debate that began over the use of certain words and terminology that got the children really thinking.
See what you think.
