As a school our history is close to all of our hearts and this year, to commemorate the centenary of the end of the 'Great War,' we decided to create something special.
Thanks to a donation from the 'Dirt' cafe that has recently closed on Chilli Road, we were able to schedule and commission a collaborative piece created through felting and collage.
Being able to fund a piece of work like this, we secured the expertise of local artist Donna Cheshire. It was interesting to hear Donna's journey into the field of textiles as our Year 6 children interviewed her during Friday's commemorative assembly.
All of our children from Playgroup to Year 6 were enlisted to contribute to a creation worthy of this significant and poignant occasion in our history as well as those who attended the family workshop. You can now see the finished piece in our museum.
